  • If My Case Goes to Court, What Happens Exactly?

The course of a civil case in Pennsylvania state court is the result of a dispute developing between parties that can not be resolved. A Complaint is then filed and served. Defendant or their counsel files an answer. Both sides gather evidence including having the parties’ depositions taken. A pre-trial conference will be held before a Judge. If there is not a settlement, a trial, arbitration or mediation takes place and a verdict is rendered. Either party can appeal the decision.
